Elijah's 'Advent Montag' performance at school.

Elijah presents his little blue wooden angel to baby Jesus, in the school Aula on 19th December 2011. As well as saying a few words , he later participated in a dance with a lit candle!

Jemima's Open Ballet Class and Klasse 3a Christmas Breakfast Concert

Yesterday we went to see what Jemima does in her Ballet classes. At the end of every term , we get to go in and watch.

Today she has recited self written poems, played the piano (after only 3 months learning) presented a picture she drew to the class and read a story with her friend that they had composed together, (all in German of course.) Other members of the class performed and shared things before they and the watching parents shared a christmas snack and of course Gluhwein together.

I mainly used the video for the performances and the video took far to long to attempt a download, so you'll have to use your imagination?!

In the meantime,Elijah has lost two front teeth (only one in this photo), and continues to learn the guitar:

Football!!!!

Yes, another blog about football, it features in quite a bit of our lives! But this time there is a difference, this is not about the boys playing, but Pete! Every Monday night he arranges a sport evening for the men in our church and their friends or collegues. Last Sunday, they decided to enter a team into a Tournament. It was an 'Inklusive' event , which meant that people with learning diffficulties were also playing. To make it fair the teams had to play each other first in the morning , so that 3 leagues were formed according to the teams standard. The IJG team was in the top league. In the afternoon they competed within their league. Pete's team played really well and had some close matches.They came second overall!

 At the beginning they were a player short, so recruited a goalie from another team, til reinforcements arrived (centre in blue)

Wisdom teeth and Jemima's 9th birthday!

I'm a bit behind with Jemima's birthday blog because last Monday, I had all 4 wisdom teeth taken out under a general anaesthetic! Recovery has been slower than I anticipated,maybe because I got an infection.  I was really out of action for most of last week, but I've been well looked after, thanks especially to Pete, who's had to take the brunt of my care and looking after the children and household. I've had my stitches out today, so will hopefully be fully fit by the end of this week and eating things other than soup and purees!Anyway before I could have the operation I had to see the last of the birthdays and birthday parties completed!

Two weeks ago Jemima was 9 and she then had a party on the following Saturday with her very special friends at home.

Birthday morning at 6:30am before school:

I'd knitted a jumper for her favourite toy dog..

We had bought Jemima a french knitting doll (Stichen Liesel), so in the afternoon after school she had a go:

She had to wait until Saturday morning for her party. She and four friends, played games:

 

Were entertained by our in-house clown (Jonah), completely in German- he was super!

Then they made lunch - pizza...

and cupcakes....

Whilst the pizza was cooking a bit of craft and the good old British game of 'pass the parcel'.

Next Lunch...

There was a birthday cake of course...

Followed by some chilling and dancing.
