Girl Scout Camp

Jemima had a fantastic time at  her American Girl Scout Camp last weekend and didn't seem to mind being away from us one bit. She was even reluctant to come home!

She is very proud of her badges that she has earned this year too.

Thank you to all the leaders who enabled the girls to have such a memorable time.

Jonah's Sports Day.

It is fast approaching the time, (next Friday), when Jonah breaks up for the Summer Holidays! He has eight weeks, five of which are before Jemima starts her holiday! Jonah will be graduating from Elementary school and moving on to Middle School.
There are lots of 'End of Term' activities going on, including Sports day yesterday. Below are some highlights!

Bridge Ceremonies

Jemima

Last Tuesday, Jemima had her bridging ceremony at American Girl Scouts , where she graduated from being a Daisy to looking forward to being a Brownie in September.
The Brownies performed a sketch , then welcomed the upcoming girls.

The Daisies were then awarded their badges and a certificate. I have some sewing to do!

This weekend Jemima is off  for a day and overnight stay at Scout camp.

Jonah

Jonah's class have been working on a bridge building project. Wednesday was the 'Bridge Breaking' day when they would be tested for their strength.

Jonah and his partner Robert's bridge came joint 1st managing to remain intact when the maximum weight was added! There is a play off any day!

Kindergarten Sommerfest

On Saturday Elijah's Kindergarten had it's Summer fete.

They have been looking at different countries from around the world.

So it was exciting for him to be able to make a Union flag and represent England.

The children all trooped in wearing different costumes and waving international flags to the music of the world cup song.

Then there was a dance to Michael Jackson's 'we are the world', in which Elijah had to support the world!

Taking a bow at the end

He was very proud and happy!

Weltmeisterschaft 2010 #1

Come on England!

The world Cup has begun and we are excited because we can't usually watch British football here.

Earlier in the day we had been to Elijah's Kindergarten Sommerfest and so the children got their face painted. They first had to explain that it was not the Union flag they wanted , but the St George's Cross!

Thanks to some post from England we were well kitted out and could decorate the house too.

Then the match........
